Hakushaku to Yousei – Episode 1

It’s probably been almost a week since it’s come out, but since I only made this blog last night, this is when I’m writing about it :p

Now, I wasn’t initially even going to look at the series. After reading what it was about, it was obviously a shoujo show. Still, I was drawn in by Lydia’s character. I watched the preview and found myself wanting to know more about her. So I did a search on the series and found that the first episode had already come out and was available on Zero-raws. So I grabbed the raw and watched it. I absolutely loved the artwork, especially Lydia’s character.

Well, everyone else is doing it, why not me?!

Note: This list will almost definitely change over the course of time. I tend to be very whimsical, and I might pick up something randomly that I see somewhere else. Or I might just get bored of one of the series. This is probably more likely, as I’ve picked out about six or seven to watch, and if I feel like it’s too much I’ll probably just end up dropping the one(s) I like least.

Gundam 00 Thoughts

So, in order to get myself up to speed for the second season of Gundam 00, which is coming this season, in Code Geass’s timeslot on Sunday, I decided to download the entire first season and watch it pretty much all in one night.

I was always intending to watch it anyway, but I was a bit down after seeing Code Geass finally end, and I wasn’t sure I was even going to watch much else. I didn’t want to have to move on from an awesome series like Code Geass, but I knew I’d have to do it sooner or later. But I really didn’t want to just watch something that was already finished off. Spending each Sunday trying to get the raw as soon as it came out, trying to catch words here and there (my Japanese is pretty limited, but I’ve picked some stuff up by watching anime), while impatiently waiting for the fansub from GG, that was really fun. It sucked waiting for the episode to finally come out, but in the end, the waiting, the speculation, the constant lurking on anime blogs made it worth it. So when I looked at Gundam 00, I was like blah.. it’s a finished series, how can that even compare to the fun I had with Geass? Read the rest of this entry »

Let the rambling begin

And the first topic: Code Geass. I loved this series, it was fucking fabulous. But I was really frustrated with the ending. And, of course, with all the speculation that followed the ending. It frustrates me to no end to not have a really.. not so much a clear cut solid ending, but it was left way too open.
