Let me start off by explaining what I mean by Twelve Moments in Anime. First, it’s not my idea, but I think it’s a pretty awesome idea, so I’m participating. It’s something CCY over on Mega Megane Moe came up with, and apparently did it last year too. Obviously, I wasn’t around last year to try it, but I am around now, so I’m going to give it a shot. Unfortunately, since I only started actually seriously watching anime series near the end of August, I don’t have a whole lot to work with. So, with that said, I won’t be following his rules quite as precisely.

To make it a bit easier on me, I’m going to just pick out anything from any anime series I can remember. Which still keeps me limited, as I’ve only seen maybe 10-15 full length anime series in total. Also, I’m not going to limit myself to one moment or scene per anime. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep things somewhat diverse, but as I said above, due to the fact that my history is a bit shallow with regards to anime, I just have to work with what I have.

But enough blabbing, on with the show!

So, you might be asking, why is this a special moment in anime that deserves a spot on my list? Well, for some reason, this scene in Geass R2 has always evoked a really strong “FUCK YEAH” emotion in me. It’s the reason I watched the show in the first place. I guess it might be a ‘guy thing,’ but anyway, this is what shounen shows are all about.

Also, as you’ll see with some of my other picks for my twelve moments in anime, I have a thing for chicks with wings. Even if it’s a chick in a mecha with wings.

I think I posted something similar back in a Gundam 00 post, when Gundam 00 finally activated and just annihilated the hell out of the A-Laws. It’s something that happens a ton in shounen shows, but when done just right, like in this episode of Geass, it has a really strong effect on me. And honestly, I’m having a hard time finding a proper word for the emotion it evokes. Excitement doesn’t seem like the right word, but for want of a better word, I suppose that’ll have to do.

And of course, what would Geass be without Lloyd freaking out about his precious Lancelot getting scratched.

Well, anyway, that’s my pick for number 12. These really aren’t in any specific order, although my number 1 pick is definitely one that I’m deliberately saving for number 1, the rest are pretty random and not really a show of how much or how little I enjoyed them.
