Yeah, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been taking a trip down everyone else’s memory lane this winter break. And my incredibly shallow background in anime is beginning to show.
I’m only on the second episode of Chobits, but oh my god is it fucking adorable. And fucking hilarious. It’s almost as funny as Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu was starting out, which is doubly funny, because Kyon’s VA also plays Hideki. Where this crazy thing will go, I have no idea, but I’m already way past hooked. In fact, the OP pretty much got me hook, line, and sinker from the first watch through.
Now I just hope it doesn’t take too long to introduce the persocom voiced by Yukana. Ah, that’ll be bliss :3
EDIT: Well, still no Yukana, but Chi more than makes up for it.

EDIT2: inb4 LOVE TRIANGLE RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE. Love triangles can go burn in hell, seriously. I know it gives good dorama, but I hate how this love triangle pops up after so much happened with Chi. Geh. Must try to suppress my rage… must not take too seriously.
EDIT3: I don’t know why I actually find Hideki all that entertaining, he’s the usual spineless idiot, but for some reason, he’s hilarious. I guess because of how far off the deep end his mind goes. I suppose it helps that the delivery of a lot of the jokes is really well done.
I loved the “3, 2, 1…” countdown, it made an otherwise ordinary joke rather hilarious. And once again, I learn not to try to drink soda while watching Chobits. D:

Muahaha! If you like Chi then you will most certainly be forced to read CCS at some point in the future.
And about the love triangle drama…all I can say is don’t worry. CLAMP (almost) always knows what they’re doing. Especially with romance (and adorableness).
But Yukana…she voices Kotoko if I remember correctly. You’ll…just have to be patient.

Chi is just so darn adorable, I can’t stand it :3 I guess I will have to get around to CCS eventually… but 70 episodes is pretty daunting.
And yeah, I kinda spoiled myself while trying to figure out how soon Yukana’s character would come in :< I mean, it’s not a giant revelation, because I was expecting it to happen sometime in the series, but now I know it’s coming D:

Another reason I stopped watching Chobits:
I thought to myself: If there was a “female” robot would I love it? I thought hard about it for a few weeks and concluded that I would never love a female robot. Why? For one BIG reason, I can’t hit it. I can hit Suzumiya Haruhi if she were real, but I can never hit a female robot. All it ever really comes down to is that real people have emotions while robots don’t. They can be (easily) reconfigured to forget everything and one magnet near its brain will probably give it an orgasm.

Hahah, it is thanks to my excellently well-watched girlfriend who bought me the Chobits DVD series. Needless to say, Chii is so moe that it’s wrong. Now, I need to turn my girlfriend to a chobit….just kidding.
