Well, I said Viper’s Creed would need to deliver some good action in the first few episodes to pique my interests, and so far it’s made good on that promise. The first episode had plenty of action. Although I didn’t really get much out of all the talking in between the action, it felt like a decent balance of the basic action necessities.
It starts out with what looks like the scrubs going in and trying to take down the giant tank thing. Obviously, they’re completely useless cannon fodder, so the big guns step in and take over.
Looks like the Vipers (I think that’s what the unit was called) are the elite squad of bike-mecha. I didn’t really catch all that much of the conversation. In fact, I don’t even know what the hell the giant tank thing they were trying to kill was. I’m guessing it was remote operated, but it’s hard to tell. Whether the main ‘bad’ guys are AI or whether it’s a group/syndicate with AI bots, I still can’t tell. It might not have even been implicitly said. Not that I’d know if it was anyway though~
The good so far: the battle between the bike-mecha was pretty interesting and well choreographed and animated. Also, even the elite bike-mecha squad had a tough time bringing the tank down. It ended up with the main guy having to sacrifice his bike-mecha and nearly himself. To me, this is a good start. I really felt like Gundam 00 started out the wrong way with the fact that the Gundams were supremely powerful. When things get stupidly overpowered, then you just have to start making up even more powerful countermeasures for there to be any type of battle that isn’t extremely one sided.
The bad so far: none of the characters feel all that likable to me. I know it’s only the first episode, and most of it was spent on action, but the characters all felt pretty boring. Then again, that might be due to the lack of understanding what the hell was going on.
So where does that leave me? Well, so far, it’s not too bad. I’ll definitely at least be watching a few more episodes to see where it goes. If they can improve on the action, make the characters at least decently likable, and not make the plot incredibly retarded, this will be a rather fun anime to watch.

Yep, bike-mecha. I’m still trying to decide if this will be any good. The characters just seem so lame that I dunno if it can hold up. But the action so far wasn’t too bad. Other than the fact that the tank was pretty much indestructible.
