Well, my worst fears have been realized. No one seems to want to sub this show. It’s really a shame, because the show seems decent overall, but maybe that’s because I don’t really know what’s going on.
Perhaps I’d be facepalming at the conversation if I actually knew what they were talking about, but so far what I’ve seen hasn’t been terrible. But with the introduction of Haruki this episode, we’re falling into the rather tired cliche of new guy on the squad trying to buddy up and then failing horribly on a mission and having to be saved and then trying to redeem himself and so on and so forth. And we have the reluctant mentor in Saiki, which also could flag him for death once he taught the new guy all he knows. Not that I’d really care much, but it’d be a bit of a shame.
Anyway, none of the tactical squad members are really all that interesting or developed yet. The only one who has gotten much screentime is Sakurako and I’m not really liking her very much. It must be the hair. The Viper squad themselves aren’t very standout either yet, but at least I am enjoying Norma’s similarity to Cornelia as she speeds ahead of the boys and takes out the enemy machines at close quarters. That’s a woman after my own heart :3
So, here’s another Fukuyama Jun role for this Winter. How many shows is he doing? It feels like he’s got a lot of roles this Winter.
Obligatory Norma action shots~
Combing his hair at a debriefing meeting, I’m liking this guy too. Although I do hope there’s more to these characters than just these silly traits. A little bit of depth is needed as well.
This just made me laugh. What is this, Power Rangers? I guess they were running some sort of medical check or some sort of scan as they went sliding down the tubes, but it just looks so tacky. You can’t just do that in an elevator or a doorway?
So, I guess they were called out to deal with some baddies, but when they got there they couldn’t find them. Either that or they were out of their range/territory. In any case, Haruki is pissed that the other members of Viper don’t really give a shit and say that it’s not part of their job, so he naturally takes off and goes after the baddies himself. Apparently Saiki isn’t as carefree as the rest of the Viper squad and tags along.
And then they end up getting surrounded by bugs. gg you lose~
I’m still at a loss as to why Haruki’s mecha lost power when Saiki’s was just fine. I’m guessing either he wasted power in the search for the bugs or he used up an assload of power trying to fend off the bugs. That or his computer just borked and shut down on him.
Anyway, after much cryans and a little boost from Sakurako, he gets out and manually fires his missiles at the bugs. Durray, problem solved!
Well, I hope someone out there decides to pick this up, because I’m not sure the action scenes can keep my attention much longer without me understanding much of the dialogue. If I do eventually figure out what the hell is going on, I hope the plot behind this isn’t terrible. The characters seem rather flat, but that may just be me, I hope I’m wrong. Anyway, yeah, someone needs to sub this so I can find out if it really is worth keeping on my schedule or not.

Basically, the new guy is the son of the former mayer and want to protect the city but by different method from his father. Unfortunately, none of the members are cooperative (for obvious reasons). In the middle of the mission, he detects something but it soon disappears. None of the members want to check it out since it just means more work for them. Even the boss tells him to retreat. Only Cyche decides to help out.
That power ranger thing kinda made me laugh. The boss tells them “Mission starts in one hour” and everyone rushes to get ino vipers? lol… Anyways, it seems like a decent series but I found the second episode to be less appealing compared to the first one.

I believe Exinet (http://midashi.org) is subbing VC.
