Read the manga last night (stayed up until 4:20), only thing I figured out quite fast is I really like the artwork of the manga a LOT better than the anime. The anime makes Taiga look like some sort of annoying loli while in the manga she is actually drawn as a very pretty (but véry disturbed!) girl..

@RogerOskaner: That's true, but Minori was pretty far away, she couldn't have possibly seen the picture in the handbook, so all she could tell was what they were saying. And Ami didn't say it so directly, so Minori could have misinterpreted it. I guess it's possible I'm being a bit too literal, I guess she was supposed to see it, even if she couldn't have seen it from that distance.

@xephfyre: Yeah, I like the new ED better as well, oddly enough. I almost always like OPs better than EDs, so I'm really surprised that I like the ED better.

@Bocom: Don't you dare spoil it :p I know it's kinda silly for me to speculate on what's going to happen when it's already written and available for me to figure out if I read the novels, but it's still kinda fun anyway.

Nice post. :)

"[...] not really that Taiga has become attached to Ryuuji. Then again, what Taiga said way back in episode 9 about it being so easy to be around Ryuuji is telling of Taiga’s feelings as well."

I'm not gonna spoil much of the 7th novel, on which this arc is based upon, but if things goes along as expected, then the first part of my quote will be contradicted in the very next episode, or the episode after that. I'm not gonna say why or how, I'll leave that hanging in the air. ;)

And I won't repeat myself, but I am one of those people that doesn't praise Ami that much. :|

In the event any character pairings don't work out, there's always unlimited doujin works.

Great writeup. You hit the nail on the head of why I'm watching this, as well as the character's motives and relationships going on.

Just one small thing though, that photo the girls were all talking about is one with Taiga and Kitamura, so now everyone thinks they're a perfect couple (except that Maya girl for obvious reasons). So then Ami says to Minorin "Taiga likes Kitamura, not Ryuuji - you don't have to feel guilty anymore about liking Ryuuji, so go after him".

But, before they look at the photo beneath the other one, Ami stops them - perhaps an image of Ryuuji? Regardless, Ami knows Ryuuji and Taiga actually really like each other, but still gave Minorin the green light, so she grimaced because she knew that by giving Minorin some confidence, she still did something wrong and drama was going to come out of it, when she was trying so hard to be a better person this whole time. Now she's still trying to sort things right between her friends.

In any case, Ami is acting as the fifth wheel to get things happening between characters that probably wouldn't have done anything on their own, and also trying to guide them through it the best she can...although, she does wish that she could have been included in all of it herself, if things were to "start over", even if it might cost her all that so called maturity everyone goes on about around her.

The entire story so far can basically be seen as Minorin, Taiga and Ryuuji being three trains on a crash course, ready to smash into each other, with Ami on the side going "Uh, guys?"
