Bishoujo of the Month: October
After some inspiration from my tanuki brother, I hereby declare the official opening of the Bishoujo Republic. My first act as Prime Minister will be to institute a Bishoujo of the Month award. This award will be rewarded to the Most Worthy Bishoujo at the end of every month. The Bishoujo of the Month award is only given to those bishoujos who exemplify the pinnacle of beauty and charm.
So, without further ado, allow me to present the Bishoujo of the Month for October: Sendou Erika
Boy this was a tough decision. There have been some very worthy bishoujos this month. After the silly conjured drama and overblown angst of the third episode of Fortune Arterial, my decision wavered. But the fourth episode sealed the deal. That little touch of tsundere really enhanced Erika’s charm, without overdoing it. As our Minister of Harem Affairs has said once in the past, the best tsunderes aren’t the ones who start out being called tsundere. You need to first introduce the character and their personality traits, then draw out that slumbering tsundere. This was done to great effect with Felli Loss in Chrome Shelled Regios and I’m starting to see it work well in Fortune Arterial.
I have to give an honorable mention to Isurugi Mio. She was very close to being my pick. MM is turning out to be very different from the trashy fanservicefest I thought it would be and Mio is really shining.
Also, I’m sure Stripey will probably have a word to say about me not picking Kasugano Sora. While I was indeed stunned by her beauty, the episodes have been focused on Kazuha, so I felt it wouldn’t be right to choose Sora, as she has been on the backburner for the most part. I’d also rather not choose the same girl for two different months, so if Sora’s arc ends up being as amazing as I’m hoping it will be, I would rather choose her then.

And the first legislation Ministry of Harem affairs will put up for parliamentary action is the outlawing of monogamy XD (limited to 2D worlds only :P – in case wife chan is reading this entry :P)
Am very touched/glad that a fellow bishoujo-enthusiast (and one whose tastes are so close to tanuki-kind) has continued carrying the touch of spreading bishoujo love. Though I have only seen 2 eps of FA, I’d say Erika is worthy and salute your iron-will to keep Sora for a later, more impactful entrance. I have faith Erika would only increase in charm given that her craftsmen are the same folks who gave us Felli Loss – the best-est tsundere of all 2D realm. That’s why tanukis swear by ZEXCS. (Yes, besides FA and YnS, the only other show I’m watching is Legend of the Legendary heroes. :P)
@Stripey: Well, I’d have to recommend you give Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Girls a try as well. It’s harem antics in a samurai world with superpowers and a loli Sanada Yukimura voiced by Kugimiya Rie. What more could the Minister of Harem Affairs want? :p
I have great hope for Erika, and they’re doing a good job not overplaying any part too much, except for a bit of angst in the third episode. She’s really charming and has left this kuroneko completely smitten :3
